Technology met one of India’s most important real-world challenges. Tech for Agriculture brought students, ideas and working prototypes together to explore how computing can create smarter, more sustainable agriculture.

Tech for Agriculture 2026 was a national-level innovation challenge organized by the ACM JAIN Student Chapter at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
The challenge asked students to move beyond ideas and think about practical technology for agriculture — from artificial intelligence and data science to IoT, software and intelligent decision-making.
The Grand Finale brought the shortlisted teams together in Bengaluru to present their working prototypes before judges and industry experts.
The challenge was open-ended, but every strong idea started with a real agricultural problem.
AI can help with crop health, disease detection, yield prediction and timely decision-making using field and weather data.
Smart irrigation can monitor soil moisture, identify water needs and reduce unnecessary water use through connected systems and useful data.
Technology can support climate-aware farming, reduce storage and transport losses, improve traceability and connect farm production with markets.
A two-round format that moved teams from online submissions to an offline Grand Finale.
